An LWA Historical Metaphor

Short: test of posting graphics to LWA science blog.

Long: These now historic photos depict the LWA Project Scientist at the VLA/LWA1 site with an esteemed colleague, along with one from an earlier stage in his career. It is my hope that this blog will lead to an improved understanding of LWA observations comparable to the intellectual evolution reflected in the transition between these indelible eras of scientific thought.

I played with some of the data in LSL. Here is a nice plot of one polarization of one tuning as an example.

I have the first shipment of my Jupiter data. The first thing that is clear is that USB2 is way too slow for accessing the data (14 TB so far). I ordered an eSATA pci card for my machine. In the mean time I've been using LSL to look at the one file that I have but for some odd reason when I run the matplotlib
programs the display just shows up for a second then vanishes without showing the plot. Still trying to track this down. In the mean time the lsl plotWaterfall programs are very nice.
